TV Multimedia and Digital Signage over IP Networks

Cabletime's MediaStar Evolution products deliver TV, video, multimedia and digital signage over IP networks to PC's and TV screens.

The MediaStar Evolution family consists of:

A MediaStar system enables organisations to take TV feeds from satellite, digital terrestrial TV, analogue terrestrial TV, cameras, dvd players etc and blend them together with images, web pages, stored multimedia, digital signage etc to create bespoke TV channels which may be broadcast across IP networks.

These channels may be decoded and "played" or stored and played on demand, by using MediaStar hardware decoders, PCs or browser based players.

Playlist and Scheduling Software

MediaStar Evolution allows complete control at the touch of a button. Manage media types, users, media output, and display devices from any location to distribute television and multimedia both locally and globally at any time or any place. With Evolution’s ‘drag and drop’ Administration Software, managing and distributing TV and media couldn’t be easier or more effective.

IPTV Recievers

MediaStar Evolution IPTV Receivers are ultra reliable, solid state decoders enabling delivery of TV, multimedia and signage delivery requirements to display devices with any of the common interfaces. Units are available with and without POE support and for either SD or HD systems. They render live MPEG-2/4 encoded streams, Powerpoint presentations (converted to HTML), JPEGs, PNGs and up to the minute webpages. Additionally they can also receive an AV input from locally generated analogue sources or via a connection to an existing MediaStar Pro and Compact system. Output quality is up to full HD at 1080p resolution.

Each MediaStar Evolution IPTV Receiver has a unique IP address; allowing tailored TV, multimedia and web content to be directed to appropriate screens. Configuration and control is simple through the MediaStar Evolution Playlist and Scheduling Software. Using the Playlist and Scheduling Software the timetable of TV, multimedia and webpages to be shown on screen is set for individual or groups of IPTV Receivers, giving tailored content per screen.

Digital Signage

Mediastar can either be used in conjunction with other digital signage systems, or as a digital signage system in its own right. Used with other systems it enables a bespoke TV feed to be included in the display, and enables live distribution of the content over IP networks.

Used on its own mediastar enables digital signage content, messages and multimedia content to be automatically transmitted direct to specific targeted screens.

Financial Trading Rooms

Keeping in touch with the latest financial news or world events is vital in today's modern financial trading room. Satellite and CATV channels such as CNN, CNBC and Sky News are broadcast through the IP Network. Timed delivery of individual channels allow Analysts' broadcasts to be delivered to selected TVs or PCs.

Corporate Offices

MediaStar Evolution is able to deliver a uniform message from the CEO and distribute breaking news to multiple large screen displays and PC workstations simultaneously. Larger organsations can add channels and users to their system simply by the simple addition of MediaStar Evolution hardware and software.

Universities, colleges and schools use the MediaStar Evolution connected to their IP Network to deliver lectures and educational material, live or from a server to any number of screens in different classrooms throughout their campus.

Sports Stadia

Networking a large number of displays through the MediaStar Evolution system, a sports stadium is able to select and control delivery of information to different areas depending on the audience. So, during a match, coverage can be displayed throughout the stadium, but at a seminar, the screens can be used to display archived footage of VHS or DVD.

Retail Signage

A retail chain may choose to update its entire store network by placing new content to a location on a server and the units would be set to check for new content in the middle of the night when network traffic would be low and automatically download the new files ready to be played out the next day.

Hotels and Hospitality

Presentations, product promotions or messages can be delivered to a wide variety of diplay devices. Hotels may welcome guests with messages on a Plasma screen in the foyer, whilst the hospitality suite at a racecourse may prefer to combine live race coverage on the TV screen with a promotional presentation.
